About Us
Management Committee
Mr Tilak Dilhan Anthony
Secretary
My name is Tilak and I am a business accountant and consultant (BSc, University of East London). As a practicing Buddhist myself, I want to help cultivate the society for the benefit of the next generations. Ever since I was a child, I have routinely started my day by reciting the dhamma, followed by 10 minutes of meditation. Thus, I have seen how Buddhism has transformed my life. When I first moved to Oxford, almost 20 years ago, there were very few who practiced Theravada Buddhism, and so I would like to spread awareness of the life-changing qualities of Buddhist practices as part of the noble mission.
Mr Amalka Hewa Naimanage
Treasurer
My name is Amalka Hewa Naimanage and I am working in the IT industry as a Principal Developer (MSc University of Gloucestershire, BSc University of Colombo and MBCS). I would like to have a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Buddha to help us not take life's ups and downs personally. My aim is to incorporate the teachings of the Buddha into our everyday lives in a manner that is both practical and profound.
Dr Dimuthu Weerasuriya
Vice President
I am Dimuthu and I am a fetal consultant and paediatric cardiologist at John Radcliffe hosptial in Oxford (MBBS (Col), DCH (SL), MD-Paediatrics (SL), Commonwealth Scholar on Foetal Cardiology (UK)). While trying to better understand myself, 'the inner-world', and our life realities, I would like to help as many as possible to overcome their never-ending sufferings of samsara by guiding them towards the correct path to the end of suffering and realising the four noble truths.
