Lost in Time

An interpretation of how precious and vulnerable time can feel in the moment.

Lost and found
In the midst of sands,
Time is sculptured
From dunes to lands;
Pyramids behold
Cries of pharaohs
For centuries sold
In tales as old as time.
For once in a lifetime
They roamed un-withered
Through fumes as bitter as lime
In hope of sweetened afterlife.
Hours walked by camels,
Minutes spent in winds
Until the stresses evaporated
And trickled down temples.
Buried and found,
Hour glasses turned.
While history unfolded
As memories burned.
Captured and erased,
Clocks chime with us
Repaired and graced
Until we are found
In time once again.
With mettā,
