‘Truth is nowhere to be found, but within an inch of thyself!’

By Rev Wadigala Samitharathana

The realm of humanity is suffering due to lingering impacts on ignorance. ‘Alas!’ - although human beings were born into this world with truth well in hand, sadly, they jumped and dropped it out of hand. The sentient mind is naively pure and authentic, but nonetheless, it is incumbent upon everyone to clean it out - to clearly see where I was, and where I am now. It thereby leads to the depths of our soul to realise the ‘Truth’ - as it actually is, rather than it was pretended to be.

The myriad of people, either wittingly or unwittingly, have been trapped in the vast net of life; that is woven into long-lasting pain, sorrow, stress, and depression that they created themselves. Nevertheless, they have not yet noticed it due to a lack of diligence, clear awareness, and mindfulness thereto. The so-called suffering has therein made food for them to rejoice in life; they are suffused with sensual desire, animosity, sloth and torpor, restlessness and worry, plus sceptical doubt at large. Unfortunately, they assume this as ‘Ultimate Joy’ and ‘Supreme Bliss’ even though this gives rise to all forms of calamity and sadness in life. Alas and alack, such a view can take you nowhere, other than the darkness of illusion - in lieu of the light of wisdom.

In sum, the ‘Truth’ lies in the fathom long body-cum-mind, albeit nowhere else. The more you discipline your mind, it will be immersed within you on the cusp of calm, peace, and insight. Please be mindful about yourself - by all means, that is the flower of truth!

Thank you!
