A Noble Mission
The Oxford Buddhist Society (OBS) aims to make a platform viable for learning, practising, and researching Theravāda Buddhist teachings - for the sake of restoring inner peace and happiness. Moreover, we want to form a centre that enriches spiritual community and harmony. Thus, with the advancement of our sessions and spiritual activities, the OBS is currently on the search for a home to conduct programmes on a regular basis. At present, our sessions and events take place at The Cherwell School North Site, Oxford every fortnight. However, we find that with the progression and demand of our events, a permanent home is needed to advance our mission further.

Spread of Word - we hope for as many people to engage in this noble deed. One way of spreading the word about our noble mission is to 'download a letter' regarding all key information about our project and to send this to anyone who may be keen to get involved.

An Ideal Monastery
We endeavour to find a suitable environment that reflects the core values of the noble mission of OBS. As such, we seek for a place that is at the heart of Oxford with an environment that invokes calm and peace; suitable enough to hold mindfulness meditation retreats and Dhamma discussions, with feasible transport links, sufficient parking space, and suchlike.
As of this moment, we have found an ideal place that resembles what we seek for establishing the Oxford Centre of Theravāda Buddhism. Therefore, to actualise the aim of this noble mission, we kindly ask for your generous support, thriving compassion and loving-kindness.
