On Receiving the MPhil in Buddhist Studies

With deep gratitude and humility, I am honoured to have received the degree of Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Buddhist Studies with Higher Merit from the University of Oxford.
My thesis, ‘Epistemology of Exegesis: A Critical Study of the Saddhammappakāsinī through the Lens of Pāli Hermeneutics’, was completed at St Cross College, Oxford and The Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Kate Crosby.

This study was generously supported by the Vajiramedhi Scholarship in Pāli Studies, the Glorisun Graduate Scholarship in Buddhist Studies, the Academic Travel and Research Fund, and the Academic Skills and Languages Fund.

I offer my heartfelt gratitude to my parents, siblings, teachers, preceptor, spiritual friends, and devoted laity for their immeasurable kindness, guidance, and support throughout this journey.

I humbly dedicate whatever merit has arisen from this endeavour to the service of the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Saṅgha. May it serve, in however small a way, as a light of peace, compassion, and wisdom for the welfare and happiness of all beings.
