Mr Lasantha Jayathilake – Secretary

Lasantha Jayathilake works in the data centre industry as the Head of Engineering Services & Production at Stulz Modular Ltd, UK. His academic background includes Marine Engineering – IET Sri Lanka and an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. He practices Buddhism with the aim of becoming a more mindful and compassionate individual, grounded in clarity and wisdom. The Buddha’s teachings help him face life’s challenges without taking them personally and provide a balanced perspective on both success and failure. He strives to apply these teachings in everyday life to cultivate inner peace, resilience, and greater awareness.

Mrs Priyanga – Treasurer

Priyanga works in the Public sector. Based in Oxfordshire, she was delighted encounter Theravada tradition practice (OBS) closer to her home. Priyanga believes it is indispensable that every Buddhist feels deeply responsible to protect this ancient philosophy in its purest form.
She also believes Dhamma can be felt within and the key for this is mindfulness. Even though it is so hard to be mindful Priyanga believes everybody must make an effort so each one of us get a step closer to Nibbana with every passing day.

Dr Dimuthu Weerasuriya – Trustee

Dimuthu Weerasuriya is a fetal consultant and paediatric cardiologist at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. His qualifications include MBBS (Col), DCH (SL), MD-Paediatrics (SL), and he was a Commonwealth Scholar in Foetal Cardiology (UK). In his personal journey to better understand himself, the inner world, and the realities of life, he hopes to help others overcome the endless suffering of samsara. His aspiration is to guide individuals towards the path that leads to the end of suffering and the realisation of the Four Noble Truths.

Mr Tilak Dilhan Anthony – Trustee

Tilak Dilhan Anthony is a business accountant and consultant (BSc, University of East London). As a practising Buddhist, he is committed to supporting and nurturing the community for the benefit of future generations. Since childhood, he has begun each day by reciting the Dhamma followed by ten minutes of meditation. Through this practice, he has experienced the transformative impact of Buddhism in his life. Having moved to Oxford nearly 20 years ago, when there were very few Theravada Buddhist practitioners in the area, he remains dedicated to spreading awareness of the life-changing benefits of Buddhist practice as part of this noble mission.
