Kaṭhina Robe Offering Ceremony 21/11/2026

The Kaṭhina Ceremony is one of the most significant and joyful annual celebrations in the Buddhist calendar, marking the conclusion of the three-month Rains Retreat (Vassa). For over twenty-five centuries, Buddhist communities have gathered during this special occasion to express their gratitude towards the monastic Saṅgha through acts of generosity and communal celebration.
The ceremony traditionally includes offerings of the Kaṭhina robe and requisites to the monastic community, devotional chanting, meditation, Dhamma reflections, and the sharing of food and fellowship. It is both a spiritual and cultural celebration that brings together people from many different backgrounds in a spirit of kindness, generosity, and mutual appreciation. Everyone is warmly welcome to participate—whether as a practising Buddhist or as a visitor wishing to experience one of the most beautiful and enduring traditions of Buddhist culture. Your presence itself is a meaningful offering.
