A Garden of Generosity: With Gratitude to Ven. Paññāvaro of Wat Suthat

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Ven. Paññāvaro (Phrakhrusangkhavijai Pandit) for his extraordinary kindness, generosity, and dedicated efforts in helping to make our monastery and garden such a beautiful and welcoming place.

Through his care, time, practical skills, and loving attention to every detail, our garden has been transformed into a peaceful space where people can pause, reflect, practise meditation, and simply enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. The flowers, plants, seating areas, trees, and peaceful surroundings have all contributed greatly to creating an atmosphere conducive to mindfulness, contemplation, and Dhamma.

We are especially grateful not only to Ven. Paññāvaro himself, but also to his respected Master, the Abbot of Wat Suthat Thepwararam, the Most Venerable Phra Brahma Vajiramuni (Somdet Phra Suthatsana Vajiramuni, Cherd Cittaguttamahāthera, Pāli Scholar Level 9) and to the many lay disciples in Thailand who have generously supported his work. Their kindness and generosity have become a beautiful expression of dāna and of the spirit of service that sustains the Buddha-Sāsana.

A monastery is not built only with walls and buildings. It is built through the generosity, care, friendship, and devotion of many people. The beauty that now surrounds our monastery is a precious reminder of this spirit of collective kindness.

On behalf of the Oxford Buddhist Society, we offer our deepest appreciation to Ven. Paññāvaro, his Master, and all those who have contributed to this wonderful work. May their generosity bring them abundant merit, happiness, peace, and well-being, and may this beautiful garden continue to offer a place of calm, inspiration, and Dhamma practice for many years to come.

With deep gratitude and mettā,

Oxford Buddhist Society
